- Note: As of 2014, Peking University does not accept Chinese citizens (including Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao) through the general exchange pathway, as the university wishes to foster a diverse international campus. As of October, 2022 this applies to all agreements, including Commerce.

- COMM students at Peking in Term 1: Some courses for exchange students in Guanghua School of Management end in December
- Exchange in term 1 is not recommended if returning to UBC in January due to limited course availability

Credit transfer process
The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)

Type of Go Global Experiences
Course information and restrictions
- Commerce students may take 2 or 3 classes outside of the Guanghua School of Management
- When using the website, note that most courses are taught in Chinese - courses taught in English are marked out in Chinese at the last column
- When selecting courses, ensure that they are available in the semester for which you are applying
- The English-taught undergraduate courses are open to exchange students, but the English-taught graduate courses of special Master programs (MIR, MBA, MPA, LLM, Yenching Academy, etc.) are NOT open.
- Chinese language courses are training courses designed for international students, therefore they are not undergraduate courses and they have class hours but no credits at PKU.
- Once students decides to give up Chinese language courses and only take undergraduate/graduate courses (Chinese-taught/English-taught) at other departments (专业院系), they are unable to change to learn Chinese at the School of Chinese as a Second Language in the first semester.
- The courses at the PKU Health Science Center (medicine, anatomy, etc.) are NOT open to exchange students.
Full course load information
- Minimum: 18 hours/week for students in Chinese School as a Second Language
- Minimum: 6-20 credits for students in other departments
- Normally 1 credit demands one or two hours/week

Exchange Tuition
- 15 credits or equivalent full-time program fee per term, paid to UBC
- Summer students attend through our exchange agreement and pay tuition to UBC based on the number of credits earned at the partner institution
- Some exceptions may apply
Scholarships and awards
The Go Global Award $1000
All students accepted to Go Global for Exchange, Research Abroad, or Study Abroad travel programs are automatically considered for this award. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you'll be notified of your award after you're accepted to Go Global and after you get nominated to apply to the partner university.
Additional awards
Students who are eligible for awards may receive one UBC or UBC-affiliated international learning award. If you're eligible, you are always offered the highest-value award. Unless stated otherwise, you need to meet eligibility criteria set out by the University Senate regarding awards.

Information for US students:
If you are a student from the United States, please check the US Department of Education Lookup Tool to ensure that any partner institution you wish to attend on Exchange is Title IV ‘eligible’ for Federal Student Aid for the year in which you intend to study there. For institutions outside of the US, select “Foreign Country” from the “State” dropdown menu.
If you attend an eligible institution, then you may receive Title IV federal student loans while on Exchange.
If you attend an ineligible institution:
- You will not be eligible for US federal student loans,
- You may invalidate any US student aid you have previously received for your studies at UBC,
- You may be required to immediately begin repaying your US student loans, and
- You may not be eligible for any future US student aid for the remainder of your studies at UBC.

Housing notes
- Different types of housing facilities available but not guaranteed for international students
- Accommodation can only be assured for the students who have the full scholarships (tuition waiver, free accommodation and monthly stipend) - for others, information about the hotels around the university will be provided on the guidebook sent together with the admission notification, as well as on the official website of the Division for International Students
- Shaoyuan Accommodation Office is in charge of the Housing on campus for Foreign Students (for reservations and related information, please contact the office directly - Phone No.: 86-10-6275 2264, 86-10-62752218 and website)
- Students can also choose to live off campus, but must register to the local police station
