Who can go?
- Exchange students can take coursework in most areas of study
- Students must have a minimum of 70% cumulative average of above to attend this partnership
- International students who are nationals from countries not listed on the UK Border Agencies list of majority English speaking countries (list of approved countries) will have to submit TOEFL or ILETS scores. Expired scores will not be accepted.
- International students who graduated Secondary School from a country on the UK Border Agency list can provide a copy of the diploma/certificate in lieu of test scores

Timing
- Law: When applying to Go Global, UBC-V Law students must select 'University of Nottingham-LAW' on their Go Global application
- Students wishing to attend semester 1 cannot return to UBC for term 2 (alternative assessment only available for law students)
- If you are interested in applying the following Schools/Departments, you must apply to Go Global's first round deadline: Department of Architecture and Built Environment, Nottingham University Business School, School of Chemistry, Department of Culture, Film and Media, School of English, School of Law, School of Physics, School of Politics and International Relations
- For all other schools/departments at the University of Nottingham, students can apply in either January or May

Credit transfer process
The transfer credit process takes approximately 16 weeks following each submission deadline. You should allow sufficient time to meet important deadlines that may affect you (e.g. application for graduation, registration in courses that require prerequisites that you took on exchange, entry to a major/honours program, etc.)

Type of Go Global Experiences
Course information and restrictions
- The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering is not available for Exchange students
- Exchange students must take 30 credits within their “home” department/school but the remaining credit can be taken in any other area as long as the student meets the pre-requisites of their preferred course.
- Students are not able to register for modules prior to arrival in Nottingham - module registration takes place in person once a student has arrived in Nottingham - more information will be given to students regarding this process at the compulsory orientation meeting at the start of the semester
- Students are advised to select a number of alternative modules in advance of arrival at application stage in case their first choices are not available
- Once students are registered for modules it is not normally possible for the module to be removed from the student’s record.
Full course load information
- Students are required to undertake a full time course of study for one or two semesters
- Modules are normally worth 10-20 credits each
- Average full time workload: 60 Nottingham credits in one semester and 120 credits over two semesters in one year
- Minimum full-time workload in one semester: 50 credits

Scholarships and awards
The Go Global Award $1000
All students accepted to Go Global for Exchange, Research Abroad, or Study Abroad travel programs are automatically considered for this award. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you'll be notified of your award after you're accepted to Go Global and after you get nominated to apply to the partner university.
Additional awards
Students who are eligible for awards may receive one UBC or UBC-affiliated international learning award. If you're eligible, you are always offered the highest-value award. Unless stated otherwise, you need to meet eligibility criteria set out by the University Senate regarding awards.

Information for US students:
If you are a student from the United States, please check the US Department of Education Lookup Tool to ensure that any partner institution you wish to attend on Exchange is Title IV ‘eligible’ for Federal Student Aid for the year in which you intend to study there. For institutions outside of the US, select “Foreign Country” from the “State” dropdown menu.
If you attend an eligible institution, then you may receive Title IV federal student loans while on Exchange.
If you attend an ineligible institution:
- You will not be eligible for US federal student loans,
- You may invalidate any US student aid you have previously received for your studies at UBC,
- You may be required to immediately begin repaying your US student loans, and
- You may not be eligible for any future US student aid for the remainder of your studies at UBC.
Types of accommodation available
Housing notes
- Exchange students are guaranteed university-allocated accommodation if they apply by the applicable deadline (see here for more information) - students will be able to apply for accommodation once they have been accepted to the university
- Halls of residence are available on each campus: catered halls on University Park and Jubilee Campus and part-catered halls on Sutton Bonington campus
- Most rooms are for single occupancy
- Self-catered accommodation (shared flats) is available close to the University Park campus (Broadgate Park) and the Jubilee Campus (Raleigh Park and St Peter’s Court)
- Private rented accommodation is available in the neighbouring districts of Beeston and Lenton
- Unipol provides an off-campus housing office on the University Park campus and can provide advice and information for students who wish to live in the private sector
- Students who wish to live in private rented accommodation are advised to arrive in Nottingham around 2 weeks prior to the start of their study period and should secure temporary accommodation prior to entering the UK
- One semester students who wish to live in private rented accommodation should be aware that they may be charged Council Tax of up to £200
