Register for one or both of two in-person sessions, each highlighting opportunities for UBC-Germany collaboration. The events feature speakers from German funding agencies & UBC researchers.

Information session: Funding your research & collaboration with Germany

1:00-2:30 PM

Join representatives from the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for an information session providing an overview of the German research landscape and funding opportunities in support of research activities in Germany and/or collaboration with German partners.

The information will be most relevant to faculty, postdocs and PhD students from across the disciplinary spectrum, as well as to staff who support them in facilitating funding, and will include details on grants in support of individual academic mobility and program funding.

Faculty spotlight: UBC-Germany collaborations 

3:00-4:00 PM

Join distinguished professors Dr. Bianca Eskelson, Dr. Jay Kizhakkedathu and Dr. Harry Maier for a panel showcasing research collaborations with Germany.  The researchers will reflect on their experience collaborating with German partners and on their success in securing research funding from Germany (including the German Research Foundation – DFG, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and DAAD).  Representatives from these funding agencies will be present to answer any questions from the audience about collaborative funding opportunities.
