January 27, 2025

If you are a UBC student, faculty or researcher interested in expanding your knowledge of China, consider applying for the 2025 Canada-China Scholars’ Exchange Program (CCSEP), offered by Global Affairs Canada and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. The Canadian Bureau for International Education administers the program on behalf of Global Affairs Canada.

Global Affairs Canada and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China recently renewed the CCSEP, expanding program eligibility, flexibility and opportunities. Changes to this year’s program include longer stays for graduate students of up to 24 months, with the option to earn a graduate degree in China, and shorter stays for professionals (one month minimum).

The program covers expenses such as tuition, medical insurance, roundtrip airfare, on-campus accommodation and a monthly stipend.

The program’s aim is to foster deeper mutual understanding, build strong academic and professional ties between the two countries and develop future Canadian leaders with both expertise and experience in China. Participants can learn Chinese and pursue post-secondary studies or research at leading institutions across China.
