It's back! After a pandemic-induced pause, the UBC Vancouver Summer Program (VSP) hosted its first on-campus program since 2019. A four-week immersive academic and social experience, VSP gives international undergrads an opportunity to take two academic courses in various faculties, learn about Canadian culture and make connections with students from around the world. VSP is a unit of UBC's Office of the Vice-Provost International (OVPI).

The lively Welcome Day Event unfolded July 18 at the AMS Student Nest Great Hall on the Vancouver campus. Musqueam Elder Larry Grant kicked off the event, addressing the crowd of 200-plus, followed by Cheryl Dumaresq, OVPI Managing Director. Both the UBC A Cappella Group and the Julio Avila Cuban Band performed live. The festivities marked the official start of VSP July 2022 session, which runs July 16 to August 16. VSP offers two programs each summer.
