PhDs: Apply to be a Special Postdoctoral Researcher in Japan by April 9

If you are a creative, independent researcher in math, science or engineering interested in taking your skills to Japan, apply to be a Special Postdoctoral Researcher in 2025 with RIKEN, Japan's largest comprehensive research institution. The prestigious three-year position is considered one of the best postdoctoral fellowships in Japan. The successful candidate gets to choose their own research topic and the laboratory where they would like to work, and earns a salary, in addition to receiving a research budget of one million yen per year for three years.

RIKEN is a National Research and Development Agency founded in 1917, known for high-quality research in a range of scientific disciplines. Today the agency includes a network of research centers and institutes with a focus on natural sciences across Japan. RIKEN also offers summer programs, seminars and internships for graduate students, some with financial support.
