Attention, sustainability thought leaders, decision-makers and leaders of tomorrow!

Join the ranks of Mélanie Joly, Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy Vice-Admiral Angus Topshee, both alumni of the Chevening Scholarship Progamme, and earn a master's degree overseas. Chevening is the UK government’s global scholarship program offering a fully-funded one-year master’s degree at any university in the United Kingdom for students demonstrating leadership potential.The prestigious programme whose graduates include 20 current or former heads of state or government is financed by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and local partnership organizations.

Apply now until Nov. 7, 2023 for the 2024/-5 academic year. The British Consulate General is hosting an info session Tues., Oct. 3, which focuses on the scholarships, what to expect from studying in the UK and how to draft a successful application, with a Q&A segment as well.

This year, Chevening has launched two partnerships which will increase the number of scholarships available in Canada:

Chevening/Briggs Scholarship: Supported by Canada-based British entrepreneur and philanthropist David Briggs, this scholarship will give priority to strong applications from First Nations, Métis and Inuit students.

Chevening/ATCO Scholarship: Supported by ATCO group, this is aimed at Canada’s next sustainability leaders and is open to students aiming to earn a master’s realted to: the advancement of the energy transition and sustainability; the development of prosperous communities, Indigenous relations and equitable partnerships; or affordable housing and community spaces.
