UBC has renamed the Office of the Vice-Provost International to better reflect its mission and focus. Cheryl Dumaresq will lead the Office of Global Engagement, under the Provost and Vice-President Academic umbrella. The portfolio includes Go Global, Global Partnerships, the UBC India Liaison Office and Asia Pacific Regional Office.

“Our focus has been, and remains, supporting global collaboration and transformative student learning opportunities worldwide,” says Dumaresq, Executive Director, Global Engagement.

The Office of Global Engagement supports UBC’s 300-plus institutional partnerships around the world through its Global Partnerships team, which serves as a hub for partners, supports the faculties with their global partnership priorities, and coordinates international visits and delegations.

Go Global oversees programs for UBC students to study and research abroad, programs for visiting international students, global education resources for faculty and staff, and supports UBC students abroad through the Student Safety Abroad registry. The two UBC regional offices in New Delhi, India and Hong Kong strengthen personal connections for learning, research and capacity development while promoting global UBC programs, services and events to partners, alumni, donors and prospective students.
